I worked on the John Martin’s department store advertising account with Ogilvy & Mather in the mid 80s, and with Young & Rubicam Retail in the late 80s.
I was Senior Art Director and Group Head at Ogilvy & Mather, and Senior Art Director, Creative Group Head, Creative Director, and Acting General Manager at Young & Rubicam Retail.
The department store was a much loved South Australian business.
In early 1987, I was appointed to manage MDA Barr Woollard Cawrse NT in Darwin, with overall responsibility for improving the creative output, client base, and financial performance of the agency.
From a position of near closure due to previous poor management, within twelve months the agency became the leading and most influential advertising and marketing company in the Northern Territory.
