NT Song

‘NT Song’ Article By Peter Barnes.

Inspiring original anthemic NT song I authored in 1996. ‘It’s Our Territory’.

Song’s lyrics…

There’s one place that I know
Full of nature’s wonder
It’s a place where people grow
Where they really matter
Yeah, I know sometimes it’s rough
Sometimes we’re put to test
But when we play the game real tough
We can win it with the best

Don’t tell me there’s a better place
Til you’ve been to my place
Together we’ll stand tall
Together we’ll show them all

Cos, ‘It’s Our Territory’ (The Territory)
Yes, ‘It’s Our Territory’, yeah
Cos, it’s our…’It’s Our Territory’ (The Territory)
Yes, it’s our…’It’s Our Territory’, yeah

There’s one place that I know
Where the stars are brighter
It’s a place where we all can go
Where the load seems lighter
From the red center to the sea
From the East right to the West
It’s the place where I want to be
Cos our Territory’s the best

Don’t tell me there’s a better place
Til you’ve been to my place
Together we’ll stand tall, yeah
Together we’ll show them all

Cos, it’s our…’It’s Our Territory’ (The Territory)
Yes, it’s our…’It’s Our Territory’, yeah
Cos, it’s our…’It’s Our Territory’ (The Territory)
Yes, it’s our…’It’s Our Territory’, yeah
(The Territory) Oh yeah, yeah, yeah
Cos, it’s our…’It’s Our Territory’ (The Territory)
You know it’s our…’It’s Our Territory’, yeah

‘It’s Our Territory’

This great NT song was used by the Peter Kittle Motor Company in advertising and marketing the motor company. The Peter Kittle Motor Company started in May 1988, when Peter Kittle started Peter Kittle Toyota in Alice Springs.

Other songs I have authored, include the Australian war heroes song ‘Can You Hear Australia’s Heroes Marching?’ Also two other Northern Territory songs… ‘This Northern Land Of Mine’, and ‘It’s A Great Place’.

I also authored a state song for South Australia in 1999, titled ‘South Australia – It’s My Home’.  The song was commissioned by the South Australian Government.
